KNS (short for Keynote Speakers) is an international Agency that specialises in bringing international lecturers, hosts, and experts in various fields to conferences, conventions, and content events in Israel. The company, which operates from its headquarters in Tel Aviv, is in close contact with the largest and leading speaking and talent agencies in the world and produces unique content events in various fields.

Curating – holding content meetings with the client, cracking the event brief and building a list of speakers suitable and customised for the client/event (Custom Made)
Booking – Closing the talents (Booking) – closing the international speakers scheduled for the event under direct agreements with the talents and/or with the agencies

KNS – who are we?

Marilyn Ambach – event planner, concert producer and hospitality expert. Graduated with honours at Antwerp University with a Masters’ degree in Communication & Philosophy. Marilyn moved to Tel Aviv in 2007 and has been working with A list artists ever since: from Leonard Cohen, Madonna, Paul McCartney, Guns ‘n Roses, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Paul Simon, Rod Stewart, Bon Jovi, Elton John, Maroon5, Rihanna, international DJ’s, actors, models, influencers etc.

Oren Naim – entrepreneur, content & creative expert, and specialist in communication and digital media. Graduated from the Film and Television Department of Tel Aviv University. In the past, Oren served as the creative-digital director of Network 13, as the head of the digital division of the Moto Mass Communication group of magazines, and as a co-founder of a number of Israeli and international companies and ventures, including: the online magazine “Vitrina” for culture and leisure, the social network for Israelis abroad Toosoo, the onlinemagazine platform Allmag, the production company Koma 2 and the youth project “Tachles”.

Amid the abundance of hummus and pita, notorious nightlife, and booming startup culture, there is a design scene in Tel Aviv that cannot be overlooked. The city—architecturally known to house the world’s largest collection of Bauhaus buildings—is full of creatives who make everything from handcrafted wooden furniture that wouldn’t feel out of place in Brooklyn to modern innovative lighting and traditional ceramic crafts. Neighborhoods like Noga and Florentin are buzzing with art and design galleries, such as the recently opened SAGA, whose space outside the Jaffa Flea Market houses the work of an all-star lineup of young Israeli design talent. Supplement visits to the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Bauhaus Center, and Design Museum Holon with stops (or stays) at these 10 local spots, which will satisfy any design lover’s creative eye.

Last week more than 70 young creatives from Belgium and the Netherlands perched in Antwerp to display their work. “De Invasie” (tr. The Invasion) wants to create opportunities for young designers. This platform organises events and offers spaces for exposition and work and plays an important link between designers and companies. Josephine’s Treasure Map to Antwerp (1)

When you travel and you don’t really have a clue what to expect or where to go (or you only have a copy of just another typical travel guide), you can easily get stuck in tourist traps and mainstream shops. But all we really want is to get to know and experience a city like a local. That’s why i thought it was a good idea to share my Treasure Map: some of the shops and bars/restaurants in Antwerp i like to spend time at. Since there are a lot of these places and so little space to write about them in one article, I’ve decided to go all Peter Jackson on my script and turn it into a Travel Trilogy. This is the first part.

A SATURDAY AFTERNOON IN ANTWERP – “No one ever started a successful treasure hunt on an empty stomach!” (I’m pretty sure some pirate somewhere must have said this a long time ago), so let’s start with brunch. I must admit I like to eat a lot of junk and take-away, but my Saturday/Sunday-brunch has to be healthy. That’s why I prefer going to De Biologisch-Dynamische Bakkerij (1). The menu offers organic and vegetarian (sorry meat-freaks) salads, burgers, granola, walnut cake, speculoos, homemade lasagna and everyday another fresh homemade soup. These are but a few things the Biologische Bakkerij has to offer. Want more? Take home one the many sorts of bread (made of sunflower seeds, Tibetan barley, whole-wheat bread, …) or one of the many varieties of artisan cakes.

Onward to the shopping streets, even though winter sales are still on display. When I was in University i used to work in a store for years; I must have created an aversion for anything that has to do with the word “Sale”. Still, there are some boutiques in Antwerp that don’t attract sales-crazy people and in which I can look around and try on things without putting my life in danger. At Fresh15 (2) for example, you can find the beautiful brands of Sessun, IRO, Humanoid and on some Saturdays you can also find the beautiful Merrymaker Ruth van Soom in this store. (By the way Fresh15 has another store Fresh34 which you can find across the street from De Biologisch Dynamische Bakkerij.) Another store I like a lot is Step by Step (3). The window filled with barbie-dolls is a real attention grabber, even more so is the range of brands they sell here: Isabel Marant, Alexander Wang, Band of Outsiders, Current Eliott, Joseph and (yes thank you Lord) my personal favorite: GGDB sneakers (Golden Goose Deluxe Brand). If you’re looking for something more different, exclusive and most of all graphic, you really should consider visiting concept store The Public Image (4 & 5). Get Glam Rock and Roll on a Skateboard (I can’t find a better way to describe the collection): Your Eyes Lie, Kid Vanilla, MinkPink, Staff By Maff, Actual Pain, Andrea Crews, Pantheone, Blood is the New Black, Jeffrey Campbell shoes and jewelry by Melody Ehsani (to name a few), TPI introduces brands as if it was presenting breakfast. Yes, TPI owner Nele Moens is on a (rock ‘n) roll (or as they say in Antwerp: ‘goe bezig’).

Legs all tired from shopping? Need some caffeine? Wanna listen to some records while enjoying your coffee? Go to Coffee & Vinyl (6). What’s in a name? Owner Lars Cosemans, never shy for a joke, moved his old record-store (called Vinyl) and added a little coffee bar, so people could sit down, relax and listen to their favorite records. It doesn’t stop there though: the bar is also a gallery. Now on display is art by Frederik Schnieders. Free WiFi, great coffee, cool art and good music. What else?

(6) Coffee & Vinyl – Volkstraat 45 – 2000 Antwerp

For something decorative or something to read i recommend two places! (Studio) Helder (7) offers the most original and practical design. The shop oozes creativity. That’s probably because the team behind this store (an accessories designer and an interior architect who both worked with renowned fashion designer Ann Demeulemeester) use their talent as a platform for presenting their own creations. You can buy a Crying Candle here, which cries tears as the wax burns, or Y-shaped tabletops as a multi-employable base for a coffee table, cabinet legs or even a book shelf. There’s so much to explore in this shop, it’s like a little adventure. If you want to feed your intellectuality some more go to ‘t Stad Leest (8). It’s a huge bookstore which offers you a look inside the favorite books from the owners themselves! Nice personal touch. And open on a Sunday.

They’ll bring their new live show ‘The Wondering Who’, followed with an aftershow DJ set by N8N remixed. Inspiration for the Home

One of the things I can endlessly fill my days with is rearranging the furniture in my apartment. With rearranging I don’t mean moving the plant to the other corner. I’m talking total change. I used to move apartments every 6 months just to have a different kind of room to decorate (yes my “little” hobby is that bad). Eventually, it took about 10 moves all over the city before I found a place worth staying (a little longer) (I haven’t moved for over a year, which is a personal record!). I now limit my passion for interior design to visiting inspiring blogs like The Selby and using the new-found inspiration during my long strolls down vintage design markets. I’m always looking for cheap (not always functional but still cool) furniture or decorative objects.

I recently visited the Antwerp the Dubieus Design Beurs, organised by the Antwerp Winkelhaak Design Center. The Antwerp What organised the What What? The Winkelhaak Design Center is a glass fortress that provides office space for young creatives, such as photographers, graphic designers and product developers. Dubieus Design (literally translated: Questionable Design – which in my opinion doesn’t sound very grateful) is a market filled with curiosities and vintage design from the fifties ’till now. There’s a fine line between design and kitsch. But that’s the way I like my interior! Most pieces are affordable, but there are exceptions, especially when it comes to pieces of known designers. Unfortunately, my tiny budget doesn’t allow investing in real design furniture (yet).

Israel’s second city and cultural and commercial capital, Tel Aviv was named “The Mediterranean Capital of Cool” by the New York Times. It’s a city that makes you feel alive. It’s constantly changing, moving, developing itself. Only a 100 years old (which is young for a city) and still, so much to be done. Luckily we have a lot of entrepreneurs here bringing in the things a city needs to sustain its adjective “hip”. The hippest thing in Tel Aviv lately is called F.A.D. It is a 30-day curated pop-up shop of limited edition fashion, art and design.

Created by Design Space* and Shoplifters**, this creative space is a multidisciplinary art project featuring all sorts of creative fields. A refined 1000 sqm space dedicated to Design / Contemporary Art / Fashion / Books / Music / Technology / Lectures and much more. From clothing to Art and Design, from flower shop to coffee shop, looking for products from israeli creatives, while browsing the library of magazine and art books. All aesthetic grounds are covered, from classics, to creations by young israeli designers, these girls are are precise collection fed by emotions and creativity. The space is hosting 40 industrial designers, and 18 contemporary artists – from Israel and abroad.

There will be special events including an exclusive private Wallpaper evening. In short: if you’re hip and you’re in Tel Aviv, you’ll visit F.A.D. Whether you shop till you drop, get inspired, do your nails, read a book, drink, eat, “mingle” or just be amazed and look around. Thank you girls – Nitsan, Anat, Gilat, Salome and Emmy.
